The ideal plan would be to just end all welfare and entitlement tomorrow. Think that would work out? First you have to sell the idea that we need to start cutting these programs. A better job of explaining why it must be done. Then gradully making real cuts in the programs and putting the responsibility back on the individual. One cut that could be made immediately would be that any type of government benefit be only for US citizens and a real crackdown on those employing illegals. Those costs would eliminated and without jobs or benefits the illegals would go home, or at least most of them.
