Can you be saved on your death bed? If so, what are your good deeds? My point was going to church and doing is a good deed which is on topic of the article. However, a skeptic would ask if you go to church to lust after the flesh, is it a good deed? So, where does building water plant or feeding the people make it a good deed? If providing water is a part of Gospel outreach, fine then.
Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. 9 Not by works, lest any man should boast."
So, if it is grace and faith, why are people so concerned with deeds. However, again I am a simple thinker - An apple tree bears apples. Further, how I bear those apples is between me and God.
As stated before by believe is simple John 3:16. So where in John 3:16 does it say deeds = salvation? We could go on all day as this topic of deeds and grace and faith has been a centuries old debate of great philosophical thought and literature. I, for one, don’t have the answer.
Also, what does tithing have to do with a Rolex?
As for Obama, you spend a great deal of time defending a man who attacks freedom and then criticize conservatives for not being able to change policy to rid the US government from all entitlements. Social Security, Medicare, abortion, VA, government retirement are all here to stay. So, your statements are a little disingenuous as the die is cast on some topics. Further, like it or not, most folks believe in a simple social net. So, it seems reasonable for conservatives to state “Let's keep from expanding the net.” Your defense of Obama seems irrational which could lead one to believe you believe he truly is a Deity. In other words, knock off the irrational Obama love. He is a terrible CINC and world leader. His economic policies have failed and he is socialist. Accept the fact Obama is not infallible like a GOD.
