This is the 2nd time this year that the County Attorney, Russell Wilson, has had to take action in the District Court over the blatantly illegal activities of the City of Floresville.

The actions of the Floresville Economic Development Corporation are so typical of this City’s leadership. Let just do it, without thinking about it, without planning for it or even considering the ramifications of our actions. More importantly, this was clearly an effort of the Mayor and his puppet council members to by-pass the will of the voters of the City of Floresville.

The Industrial Park debacle is next. An arbitration attempt is being made by the County Attorney, but if history is any predictor to the actions of the City of Floresville and their attorney, their response will be “we’ll settle this in court.” (Note: that all the legal actions taken against the City or any of it’s entities this year have all had the same response from the City. All were settled when the City complied before the issue made it to court).

I hope the citizens of the City and County are watching and considering what and where will Floresville be in the future? The upcoming Municipal Election will have a huge impact on how Floresville prepares for the future.

It will be necessary for the leaders of our City to comprehensively and completely review all aspects of any proposal (good and bad) before taking action or spending any of the tax payers dollars.

More to follow.
