"WE LIVE IN A VIBRANT , CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY... together we can do so much, alone we can do so little."
So if you're a Muslim, a Jew, a Hindu, or Buddhist, you're not welcomed? It's obvious you're not one for diversity, but now you just admitted it.
"Our Parks Foundation developed a motto " Get Fit Floresville", encouraging adults and children to live healthy lifestyle. "
Oh come on! Just take a look around. Obviously, a lot of people haven't gotten this message. Maybe if the parks foundation was actually met and did things, instead of being just a slush fund for pet projects and birthday parties, people would believe this.
"Often , I read that the City Council went against the petition. Again, not true. The petition being circulated by Jim Miller, did not want the City to obligate any tax money to build the park. The financing method approved the FEDC does not obligate a single penny from the City.
Therefore , the CITY PROPERTY TAX PAYERS WILL NOT FINANCE THE PROJECT. NOT A SINGLE PENNY.. These are the facts. "
Facts, huh? Why then, did your city council try to approve an interlocal agreement for the upkeep of this complex? Who would be doing the upkeep? City workers. How are they paid? TAXATION. Who pays taxes? Probably no one you know. So the working man gets squeezed.
It's obvious that the people of Floresville are waking up and smelling the coffee for a change. The number of detractors is growing. Soon, they will outnumber the lazy entitlement crowd that helped to elect those currently in power. And then, cousins, uncles, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews won't be the ones getting the jobs. Maybe then people in Floresville finally will be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
And nothing personal toward Daniel Tejada, I don't even know him personally. But, for the record, your city's website has a description of your job, as listed in the city charter. It is:
3.01 NUMBER, SELECTION AND TERM
"(b) The mayor shall conduct City Council meetings FOLLOWING THE POSTED AGENDA provided by the City Secretary. The mayor shall be recognized as the head of the city government for all CEREMONIAL PURPOSES and by the governor for purposes of military law, but shall have NO REGULAR ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES. The mayor shall be entitled to vote on all matters under consideration by the City Council, only to break a tie vote."
