Dear Residents of Floresville,

I am deeply concerned about the inabilty to muster a qurom to conduct official City of Floresville business. Each one of us as eleced leaders swore to an oath to abide by the United States Constitution, the laws of the State of Texas, and the City Charter. Regardless of political views, we must faithfully execute our duties.
For 5 meetings, including special meetings, public hearing, and regular meetings, The City has not been able to conduct business.
The consequences of not doing our job by October 1 is extremely important for our financial future. The City must ratify the tax rate or it will be in breach of state law and will be unable to collect any tax revenue. The City of Floresville will then operate without any property tax. This would severely impact our budget, and thus police, fire, water, waste water , streets , and all other municipal services will be impacted.
It is IMPERATIVE that we can gather as a CTY COUNCIL to conduct business. I urge all concerned citizens to reach out to your City Council, and voice your concerns.

Sincerely,

Daniel M Tejada
Mayor
City of Floresville
