Why do all of the proposals affect people down the road and not take effect immediately? If its a good idea 20 years from now, its a good idea now.

Are you afraid of political backlash from people who would be impacted? just lower the amount paid right now, change the eligibility requirements righht now, and than go after the scammers on disability, and reduce widows benefits.

Widows benefits? I know a gal whi gets em, is perfectly healthy, in her 30's, doesnt need to work for the rest of her life- what the heck is that all about?

I know a lady who hasnt worked in 35 yrs. is perfectly healthy, just recently qualified for disability of 750 per month? Why? She hasnt worked, had no income before, never contributed.. So we pay her for arthritis? Seriously this is crazyness.

All of the proposals most impact the people who contributed the most. I have been in the workforce for 30 years, have maxed out the fica contribution probably 10 times.. So instead of targeting abusers lets make Alvin work longer and pay for others longer.... Silly.
