If we are trying to reduce the national debt, does it make sense to raise taxes on only two percent of the population who makes over 250,000 or do we make the 46% of Americans who don't pay taxes contribute to reducing the national debt?

Out of 314,395,013 Americans only 169,773,307 pay taxes. Lets say the average household of Americans income tax return who do not pay taxes is about $4000. If this amount is reduced to $2000. The 46% of non tax payers would pay $339,546,614,040. So the question is do you charge 2 people $50 or 100 people $3? Sounds like simple math to me.

I strongly believe that our government dips into the Social Security piggy bank to cover for other spending and is more the reason why that cookie jar is left with only crumbs.
