I think I must have missed something but from reports I understand that this fire caused 5 million dollars in damage. Is that the total loss including all the properties? I find it hard to believe it is just the fireworks warehouse. It seems like that number must include damage to adjacent properties and equipment (Ewald's for example). Even if the building were worth $500,000 (which is a stretch) That leaves $4.5 million of damage. I also find it hard to believe any insurance company would provide coverage without requiring this building have a fire-rated construction, which does not look to be the case. They must have been paying a high premium rate to protect $4.5 million in inventory.
