Everyone is correct on here thus far. The city manager thinks he is the most entitled person in Floresville. He does no wrong and is above the law and charter. He has proven that time and time again. We keep asking the same questions over and over. Of course he is not going to hand over the books, he will loose his $90,000 a year job, and be indicted (again) for misappropriations, so he will create a quiet hostile working environment. Do you honestly think any of the ladies (there are no men that work as customer service associates, city secretary, constituent liasion-almost all his staff that reports to him are female) are going to go against the one that makes sure they still have a job? Females are emotional character's, they are not stupid-"don't bite the hand that feeds you."
The City of Alice is not stupid. They do their homework, who would want a city manager that has put a city in $350,000 in debt, has been inditited for abuse, gave up his peace officer lisence instead of fighting for his life's work (guilty there). Smart cities will not hire someone that does not have the know with all to run a city. Essential that is what the city manager does. Our city manager is doing just that runs our city.
It's time for the city council members to step up. Remember the Mayor position is nothing but hugs and baby kissing, picture opportunities. There is NO power as Mayor. Keep feeding this fish and he will eventually get full, when all the truth comes out, it will be very interesting to see where all the money has gone. Remember he has to protect not only himself but others. If there was nothing to hide, then why not give what is being asked. He cannot hide anymore or can he? Seems our new mayor has already turned her back on the citizens that elected her there, will the other three councilmen follow suite? Time will tell!
