Floresville

When Mr. Joslin took the position - Floresville was SOLVENT.
During an oil boom - Floresville become INSOLVENT in four years.
I know we hate to deal with FACTS - but it remains the TRUTH of the matter.
This IS a public manner. It is the TAXPAYER'S money - they have the RIGHT to know how it is being spent.
The citizens have a right to know what is going on in the enter workings of our local government. ...
This counsel just may be able to save Joslin's job.
They are telling him and his staff exactly what they want and need. He did not have much direction from the prior counsel and mayor(which I notice have left Mr. Joslin to take all the heat) ... Joslin came in with no experience, but he is surround by staff that support him - and I would imagine he will know much more about city manager's job when he is done.
Nothing like on the job training. Best way to learn.
I genuinely hope he and the staff succeed.
Having said that - the city staff and city manager will have to eventually be transparent. This is a true hitch in their geety up. It APPEARS they do not want to give up information - especially about prior years.
Evidently the books were kept so harem scarum that Lara the comptroller has had to create or re-create the books. Whoever was in charge of that department before really left a mess. (confuse and conquer style)
This is a problem that will be addressed later, after we are through this immediate crisis.
Nope - this all needs to stay pubic. Tact, respect, compromise, integrity and honesty needs to be applied by all. Counsel, Staff, Mayor - and the Citizens. ...
If a citizen, board member,or counsel person cannot get information they are asking for - You bet!! It should be aired in publicly - if nothing else is working.
Nope, Alvin - we are not sitting down and shutting up. You may not like the way things get done - all nice and polite and professional - why is it now - you are wanting "professionalism" - this is an almost funny request after the huge failings of the last regime. They did not even stay legal - much less professional.
