I am a life skills teacher and my students have different disabilities and yet are required to take the STAAR-ALT. A more hands on and indivilualized assessement. However, the test has become overwhelming, making 6th graders test on 8 objectives, 7th on 12 objectives and 8th on 16 objectives. That is for each student. Now that is ridiculous! The focus needs to be back on functional living goals!
