When I was set to run for a spot on the school board, the board member that I would be running against was "appointed" to another term by the school board...against the advice of legal counsel. I thought board members were supposed to be voted on by the community, not the school board. Just another example of small town politics. I do believe that there needs to be a change. La Vernia is a great example of when people who had enough actually went out and made the necessary changes.
