@ 4th Generation Texan: I respect your opinion and comment, but I will not give up on this town or this school. I love this area and I see a tremendous amount of potential in this school district. Are we facing tough times? Yes, I do believe that we are. I am not going to use this discussion post to say anything disparaging about administrators and school board members, but perhaps it is time for a proverbial changing of the guard...not because of one specific issue or rumor, but due to changes in the educational system, technological advances, societal shifts, etc.

I work in the corporate world and we change teams/roles periodically in order to stimulate creativity and productivity, not because someone or some people did something wrong, but in order to accomplish a greater good. I am a firm believer in that the status quo needs to change. Albert Einstein was attributed with the following quote that I believe resonates what we are experiencing at FISD: "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Just my two cents.

Respectfully submitted,

Dr. James D. Rethaber, PhD
