James – I’m afraid you are setting yourself up for some serious disappointment. You clearly are an educated man as evidenced by your PhD. You state that you are in the corporate world and you give some good examples as to what is done in the corporate world to help achieve greater results. The problem is you are not dealing with a corporate world here. You are dealing with a community where cronyism is always put first. You can try to invoke some logic and common sense here and there but at the end of the day, the cliques that run this community will beat you down to the point you would rather have your head put in a vise and tightened than continue to try to change things. Best of luck to you. I do hope that things can change but I’ve seen many people go down in flames only to find 4th Gen Texan’s advice to be the best advice they have ever received.
