First Rule of Logical Government: If a thing is not absolutely essential don't do it. Security, streets, water and sewer top the list. Stay out of anything that can be done by private enterprise. Feel good programs cost taxpayer dollars and government has no business doing it, leave that to charities or private citizens who choose to do them. Government cannot be everything to everybody. Use of common sense would help.
