Help Wanted

Little Bear Child Care Center in La Vernia is hiring full-time and part-time positions, must have High School diploma or GED.  Apply within or if you have any questions contact the center at 830-253-1166.
ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

I agree, Howard. If I recall there was an election cycle since the courthouse was roped off. If people wanted new commissioners, they had time to get them in, but obviously the citizens voted in the representation they wanted. Also, I find it amusing all the hub-bub about "just wanting a vote" on the bond, and here it is, but it's still not good enough. Finally, thank you for using your name. It's nice to know who is not afraid to have an opinion. I can't wait to see how many we have running for county positions on the next ballot. With so many unhappy, I'm sure it will be a sight to behold.
