An excellent commentary that should concern every American who cares about this country. The size of our military establishment is one cause for concern, but we should also ask whether our armed forces are being used as they should be.

A bigger concern to me is the election of Obama and his subsequent re-election. The mantra of "home and change" may have attracted some voters, but knowing his vision as it was revealed in his first term should have helped them see the light. Obama was elected largely because the voters who were not ignorant chose not to vote, and this was especially true in 2012.

When the most respected American institution, the Armed Service, has lost its direction it does not bode well for this country.
