As I left the building, there was a gathering of folks listening to Councilman Morones in the parking lot. I didn't stop to ease drop on the subject but with the outcome of the vote following the motion by Nieto and second by Morones, one can speculate what is about. IF the conversation concerned the allegation/s discussed in executive session and not in open session, it would be appropriate for the councilman to apologize to the City Manager. Wonder if Councilman Morones lodged the complaint himself and was explaining his reasoning to do so.
What is really appalling is the fact that after the City Manager left the executive session, the council returned and the motion was made to terminate. Didn't they have a consensus before they left the back room? One would think that something as significant as terminating a three month employee for cause would have been supported in executive session. Comedy of errors continue to embarrass Floresville.
Lastly, doesn't the city have a Supervisor of Elections? Wasn't one of the three named individuals receiving Councilman Miller's resignation, that person? Why didn't the election super advise the Mayor that a Special Council meeting was required in the appropriate amount of time to accept the resignation?
