Update from Josh Donat with the Texas Department of Transportation in Bexar County:
Mist is starting to come down a little heavier and rain is just starting to freeze on windshields, temps at 29 and holding. The area engineer just drove I-35 from county line to county line; she reports the road is wet but ice is not currently forming. This might be from traffic knocking away anything before it gets a chance to form.

Another crew drove FM 311 and the Guadalupe River on the west side of the county. They report it is misting but no icicles on the signs or ice on the pavement as of now.

We’ve treated Loop 337, the hills on FM 3009 and FM 2252 at over the Cibolo.

Currently all maintenance forces are out monitoring the roads.

Please advise public to travel only when necessary. If you must drive, slow down and increase following distances. If your wheels lock up and you start to skid, ease off the brakes or accelerator and turn into the slide to recover.
