If you always do what you always done, you get what you always got.

The voters have spoken they want unimaginative, not what you know but who you know mediocrity and continued lack of solutions to things they say are important.

Mr. Jackson said he can’t fix the roads; wants to build a new courthouse after he gives the newly renovated courthouse to the historical society; wants to expand the police state; and approves of the third class library that Wilson County is about to have. He has no solution to the lack of high speed internet which is holding this County back.

I will make a prediction Mr. Jackson runs as Republican and governs like a Democrat. Taxes will continue to go up. Wilson County government will expand; roads will continue to be fixed based on good old boy network; county employees will continue to see raises greater than the private sector and opportunities to turn Wilson County from a low class trailer trash neighborhood to a middle class innovative neighbor will be squandered.

But isn’t that what we voted for when we are more concerned about being from here than finding innovative solutions? In my opinion, while Mr. Jackson seems to be a very nice and thoughtful man, Mr. Jackson doesn’t have the education, experience, leadership or intellect to do more than continue the mediocrity.

I guess I was hopeful that with a good candidate like Pullin running things would change. It appears those for change are outnumbered and their message of financial responsibility and enlightened solutions does not reflect the voters. We will continue to elect the unimaginative and the connected. Folks won’t show up to the Wilson County meetings, money will be wasted on pet projects, third class solutions and outcomes will continue, people will join parties and gripe about their elected officials, and the paper will continue to sell newspaper based on the disenchantment the average people feel.

So, I am going to get to "know" people instead of trying to make it better. I suggest all you "for change" people bow down to the political elite. Doesn't seem that many people to get know when it only takes 2000 people to win an election.

Otherwise, if you always do what you always done, you get what you always got.
