Are you really naive enough to think the $8.0M dollars went against the national debt? It went into this year's general fund (with good intentions). But you know politicians. At least of them will discover that the money needed to satisfy one of his or her 'pork' projects has been found, it will quickly be transferred to the discretionary fund and be spent. Meaning no reduction in this year's accumulating defict which will end up transferred at year's end to the national debt, increasing the debt by another $8.0M.
