Please enlighten me on the Founding Fathers and "in their private lives weren't Christian in the least." I didn't say they were Christians, I said they were Deist. They believe in GOD. Fressmasons require a belief in Supreme Being for someone to be a member. No atheist can become a member of a Freemasonry Lodge. So, how many founder fathers are part of your definition and of that number how many are atheist like you?

The manual is for a human and so just like in a car whether it is a Chevy Cavalier or a 2008 Nissan Skyline if you don't change the oil the motor is going to motor is going to go bad quicker.

You state society runs much better without religious influence then you should have liked Nazi Germany and Communist USSR.

Religion is a reasonable basis for deciding what good is. All major religions have some basic similar tenets. Deciding what is good without a religion makes “moral decision” irrelevant and it becomes what is good for me is too bad for you. Hitler used the theory of evolution as the basis for the master race so to Hitler was “good” to kill the Jews. In his mind, they were holding society back from reaching its potential. Religion talks about giving alms to the poor. In a good society, is the government the one who gives alms or is it an individual's responsibility and how does one without religion decide helping others is good. Would the world not be more efficient since that is your definition of a good society, if you killed the offsprings that have special needs and put to death members of society who are no longer productive? Where does your good come from?

Finally, please lump me any of your narrow view of those who disagree with you. You are the one indoctrinated not me. I am an educated thinker who uses facts to make decisions and arguments. You on the other hand make lots of assertions but no facts but you want to use science as your crutch for argument. So, my thesis stands the Founding Fathers were Deists (believed in a Supreme Being) and religion is a valid starting point for discussing what good is.
