If the passage you mentioned is the only one you are referring to in regard to your incorrect belief that Jesus told His followers to kill others, then a short reading of trusted Biblical commentaries will teach you what He meant. He wasn't referring to having his followers rise up against others, He was referring to what would happen to those who believe in Him. In fact, if you read the previous chapters in Matthew, you'll see that He clearly teaches to love your enemies and not fight back.
