Firstly, to JPC...

Have you watched Zeitgeist, or been to the Zeitgeist site? All of the sources used are listed, and all the ones I looked into matched up. All the attempts at debunking Zeitgeist have come really really really short of anything remotely solid. It's always the same with you silly christians..."Cuz the bible says so."

The bible does not once give a detailed description of the actual universe as we know it today, and that's because they had no scientists of any kind in the hebrew culture. Even the Greeks at the time were limited in their technology, but even they figured out more about astronomy, math, and other such thing than was ever mentioned in the bible.

Bible verses, such as the ones you mentioned, are put there so that people like yourself can have something to cling to when everything else is disproven. They're meaningless safe-guards to a 2,000 year old propaganda machine.

Rebecca, I suggest you stop listening to Kent Hovind and your church leaders and check up on the fossil record. There are plenty of transitional fossils. I'll name a few for you.

Evolution of Whales/Dolphins:
Pakicetus
Ambolucetus
Kutchicetus
Artiocetus
Dorudon
Aetiocetus

Dinosaurs to Birds:
Yixianosaurus
Pedopenna
Archaeopteryx
Confusciusornis
Icthyorinis

And that's just to name a few. Do some more digging.

Winston,

Empirical evidence is used when there's no facts? I beg to differ. Empirical research is any research that bases its findings on direct or indirect observation as its test of reality. Hence Empirical evidence would be facts, since all scientific evidence is obtained through observation and testing. I've heard all of the arguments attempting to disprove all of the evidence gathered for Evolution so far. It's more circumstantial or fabricated than what you claim the evidence for evolution ever could be. You said you're an engineer, not a biologist. I suggest you get your information about biological research from reliable sources such as Richard Dawkins, instead of fools like Kent Hovind.
