 		 Vietnam had nothing to do with defending America. Neither does Iraq. America has not been under a genuine threat since world war 2.

And if I could afford to go to Italy, I would. I would march right into Vatican City and tell them off for their ignorance. If they lynch me, it proves that christians can't handle the real truth being put in front of them in a personal scenario without resorting to violence. Not to mention the fact that I'd take plenty of them down with me in self defense.

Proving that Jesus didn't exist is crucial to disproving christianity. If he did not exist, then there was no resurrection, and without that, your faith is truly meaningless. There's no proof that he did exist. The shroud of Turin was proven to be a hoax on Myth Busters. That was the closest thing to solid proof you had.

I would, as would all other Atheists, convert immediately if there was solid proof that he existed, or if the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail could be found and authenticated. Which will never happen because those never existed either.

The disciples are really just as questionable as Jesus, because plenty of pre-dating mythologies include a savior with disciples. People write under aliases today, and it's more than likely that the authors of the bible did the same thing to give credibility to the story. I'm sure it was easier for one to change one's name then than it is now.

I don't insist that ALL christians believe that every word in the bible is to be taken literally. The problem is that the Fundamentalists do, and the rest that don't either think that some of it is literal and the rest is open for interpretation, or that it is all open for interpretation.

I insist that for it to matter at all, it must either be the literal word of god, or a meaningless vague work of fiction. It's actually a work of fiction either way, and even if it's not, the contradictions and behavior of your god within the canon prove that he's childish, cruel, and completely fallible, and therefore not worth worshiping even if he does exist.

You're missing something, Winston. You may not be in to burning witches or torturing Atheists, but there are tons of fundamentalists who are, and the Fundies tend to be more active in trying to accomplish things than those like yourself. Even the less extreme fundamentalists are the ones who run the church, and would love to run things and set us back at least two hundred years.

I may not know you personally, Winston, but I'd be willing to bet that you're just as hypocritical in your thoughts and actions as the bible is in its instructions for being a good person during your daily life.
