Actually, Becky, I value equality and liberty quite a lot. You find neither in the modern United States. This system failed a long, long time ago, and we're all living in a government created illusion.
Even more to the point, the founding fathers themselves were disappointed in how things turned out a mere ten years after the inception of the government system they created.
You assume that My idea of a perfect system, or rather, my support of The Venus Project, means that I advocate communism. However, communist countries have a monetary system, not a resource based one. Communism comes down to how much the common man can produce. In the Venus system everything that can possibly undergo full robotic automation does, and distribution of resources is completely equal. Resources and housing would be given to everyone in spite of age, gender, race, creed, or orientation. Surely this is far more equal than the current system we live in or any other that has existed.
Religions condemn too many people. It can never support a system of true equality.
By the way, I don't like China. Just one idea they've come up with. And of course abortions would be used when birth control failed.
Also, The criteria for becoming a parent would be consistent and solid. If you prove to have abusive or neglecting tendencies, below average intelligence, or the maturity of a preteen then you're not getting a birth permit. Seems fair. Even better, a ban on having kids until all the kids in orphanages or adoption agencies all find good homes. That's a lot more humane than allowing all of them to spend their entire lives neglected in a horrible system.
Who says pride is altogether a bad thing? Everything in moderation. Jealousy over goods and resources wouldn't exist because everything would be evenly distributed. Jealousy over looks and such could be abolished through education, just like religion can be.
God doesn't exist, and has never decided anything. Everything that has ever affected the course of mankind has been the result of mankind's choices.
The founding fathers had some good ideas, and a lot of them could transfer over. With some changes in the text of course. For example, instead of "Created equal with certain inalienable rights" (Which is a joke, cuz if that was true There would have never been a need for any of the civil rights movements this county has gone through, or the current civil rights issue of gay marriage, which is opposed by who? Religious institutions.) Should be changed to "Born equal with certain inalienable rights."
Honestly, I see absolutely no redeeming qualities in neither religion, nor any of the current systems, both economic and political, that exist today.
What I don't understand is why people are letting the government bail out corporations instead of helping the common citizens of this country.
Watch Zeitgeist: Addendum. It gives a detailed explanation of the monetary and banking systems. It will definitely change your mind about the system.
By the way, Mike Clements...I think that you should know that Lily has a little problem...that will definitely keep her out of your beautiful little "heaven" (It really astounds me that in the modern age people think they'll go to the sky when they die, when we know there's nothing above the clouds, aside from ever-thinning atmosphere.). She likes to read and watch gay japanese porn graphic novels and anime, also known as Yaoi Hentai. Surely, since the bible condemns homosexuality in numerous places, this makes her a pretty bad christian.
