JPC, You make some good points. There has been, and will be a lot of revisionist history published. There have been and will be many archeological "findings" that have turned out to be frauds. All my life, I have learned from "experts" only to find other opposing views by "experts" with similarly impressive credentials.

Perhaps even more telling is the fact that, as a person in the modern world, I have learned firsthand in editing Wikipedia articles that revision is a constant intellectual force. Seemingly, no truth can stand against the constant blows of editor's pens. In the end, all ideas bend to the will of the strongest, most persistent, and stubborn. In the case of Peter's Church, it has also been a case of the most ruthless, as opponents to the church's views have been tortured and murdered. I prefer to see God around me in all creation, not some book. And although man's hand attempts to manipulate creation too, in the end, man is only another aspect of God's work.
