Admire 50 types of bird species at Mitchell Lake bird tours

Head over to the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center as it plans Guided Bird Tours every Sunday morning in March, starting at 8 a.m. Led by an expert guide, guests will tour the various habitats, where they will see at least 30-50 different bird species.

Traveling by both car and by foot, tours are best suited for the birder age 15 and older as it can last up to four hours, though you may leave at any time. Tours are limited to 10 participants. Take binoculars, water, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray. General admission is $10. Members are free.

Additionally, on Saturday, March 18, Mitchell Lake will hold a Bird Hike for Women from 7:30-11 a.m. Expert bird guide Tiffany Kersten will lead this (approximately) 5-mile hike, focused on listening and looking for birds, and educating participants about personal safety while birding. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. The Mitchell Lake Audubon Center is located at 10750 Pleasanton Road in San Antonio.
