Many Wilson County families found themselves traveling April 29-30 to Tomball, for students to compete in the Homeschool State Championships. The families were competing in track and field events as a part of FEAST — Family Educators Alliance of South Texas — a San Antonio-based clearinghouse of information and support services for the homeschool community, including sports.
Eight Wilson County families had 21 kids competing, the majority of them finding success in one form or another at the competition.
All in all, the Feast Patriots from Wilson County found great success with more than 192 team points, two individual State champions, and nine total relay State champions. The Feast Patriots were champions in six of 10 divisions, second place in two divisions, and third place in two divisions.
The highlight for Wilson County had to be the 10-under girls 4×100 meter relay victory, in which all four team members —Sophia Garza, Koehler Garza, Katy Shahan, and Abigail Haller — were from Wilson County.
