Former Texas Rangers to honor Claiborne Rector

A dedication will take place May 22 in the Concrete Cemetery near La Vernia, where a Texas Ranger Memorial Cross will be placed on the grave of Claiborne Rector, considered an “Early Ranger” for his participation in the Battle of San Jacinto.
