Four plead ‘no contest’ in La Vernia sexual assaults case



Four former La Vernia High School student-athletes face probation with deferred adjudication and community service, after pleading no contest Oct. 4 in Wilson County District Court to charges of “unlawful restraint” in the hazing scandal that rocked the La Vernia community in spring 2017.

Criminal cases continue against others arrested and indicted following allegations of sexual assault by male athletes in the La Vernia High School athletics program.
