Many area voters will have opportunities to cast ballots May 6 for or against school district bond proposals or for their preferred candidates for a city council or a school board.
Voting will take place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated polling places. (See links below for information about voting locations, candidates, and bond issues.)
Turnout during seven days of early voting, which began April 24 and concluded May 2, was mixed. The total of ballots cast in advance of Election Day for the following entities are as follows:
Cities
•China Grove, 97
•Floresville, 687
•Nixon, 161
•Poth, 34
•St. Hedwig, 128
•Stockdale, 72.
School boards, bonds
•Falls City ISD, 122
•La Vernia ISD, 1,296 (bond only)
•Nixon-Smiley Consolidated ISD, 282 (bond and school board)
•Poth ISD, 76
•Stockdale ISD, 93.
