Hunter Joe ‘Joe Joe’ Jansky

Hunter Joe Jansky, also known as “Joe Joe,” passed away on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at the age of 24 years. Hunter was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Aug. 30, 1996, to Sam Peter Jansky Jr. and Katherine Gibbs.

Hunter was a simple man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially all of his nieces and nephews, hunting, and fishing. As long as there was a fishing pole in his hand and water nearby, he was perfectly content.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Gibbs; and his maternal grandfather, Homer Lee Gibbs.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Sam “Skipper” and Barbara Jansky; his brothers, Cody Siegert and wife Devyn and Dustin Siegert; sisters Hannah Hierholzer and husband Jacob and Jennifer Wiatrek; nephews Lane Hierholzer, and Zayden and Caleb Wiatrek; niece Layla Hierholzer; maternal grandmother Mary Sue Gibbs; paternal grandparents Sam Peter Jansky Sr. and Jack and Lorraine Eli; best friend and girlfriend Lexi Foley; three uncles; one aunt; and many other loving family and friends.

A memorial service for family and friends was held on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. in the St. John Lutheran Church in Poth.
