Milton ‘Bubba’ Stanley Henkes

Milton Stanley Henkes passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at the age of 93. Milton was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 11, 1929, to Leon Charles and Erna Y. (Krueger) Henkes.

Milton, also known as “Bubba,” was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Lone Star Brewery for 40 years. He was hardworking, always very loving, patriarch of the family, and superman to everyone. He was the greatest man alive, said his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Glenda Marlene Becker; parents Charles and Erna Henkes; brother Clyde Leon “Sonny” Henkes and wife Lillian; sister Helen Henkes; brothers August Henkes, Willard Henkes, and Malford “Hank” Henkes; and sister-in-law Jeannie Henkes.

Milton is survived by his children, Michael Anthony “Tony” Capps, Charles “Chuck” Eugene Henkes and wife Kathy, and Kathleen “Kathi” Clay and husband Charles “Charlie”; brother Charles Henkes and Carol Lillie; sister-in-law Gloria Henkes; grandchildren Kandee Nicole Raziano and husband Randy, Chad Michael Capps, Hailey Diane Points and husband Danny, Jacob Andrew Henkes and wife Andria, Alyssa Lee Ewing and husband Kevin, Shellie Nicole Clay, and Tyler Madison Clay; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 1-5 p.m. in the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton.

A graveside service was held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.

Serving as pallbearers were Chad Capps, Jake Henkes, Tyler Clay, Randy Raziano, Jennifer Champion, and Darren Henkes.
