Minnie Lela McGuffin
Minnie Lela McGuffin, 96, of Stockdale, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in Floresville. Lela was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Brady to Robert Acca and Velma Gordon McElhaney Tanner.
Lela married Hugh Lafette McGuffin on June 6, 1943, in Floresville. She was an avid reader, and until recently, was reading five books a week. She loved to travel and enjoyed the beauty of wildflowers. Lela was always willing to help anyone in need and enjoyed caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Tanner and Velma Tanner; husband Hugh McGuffin; son Tom McGuffin; siblings Robert Tanner Jr., Ollie Tanner, Olive Tanner, Bessie Rogers and husband Melton, Thelma Oleta Tanner, and Romie Lee Tanner; and great-grandson Justin Lafette Donaho.
Lela is survived by her children, Ronnie McGuffin and wife Delois, Sandra Bird and husband Joe, and Clint McGuffin and wife Babs; eight grandchildren, Rocky McGuffin and wife Martha, Audra Donaho and husband Billy, Jennifer Gillet and husband Gary, Ronnie Len McGuffin and wife Kelly, Tracy Jensen and husband Ryan, Kelly Blakey and husband Greg, Jenny Sindt and husband Derek, and Misty McGuffin; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Barbara McGuffin; and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 13, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Stockdale Church of Christ in Stockdale.
Interment followed in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.
