MSgt Edward L. Haberstroh, USAF (Ret), 89, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, surrounded by his family. Edward and his twin brother, Phillip, were born Dec. 25, 1932, in Columbia, Pa., to William and Sophia (Smith) Haberstroh.
Ed served 23 years combined military service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, which included wartime service in Korea and Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruth Haberstroh Albright; brother Dr. William C. Haberstroh; sister Alma Haberstroh Mease; sister Betty Lou Haberstroh Overmeyer; and his first wife, Emily Sheets Haberstroh.
Ed is survived by his twin brother, Phillip Haberstroh of Columbia; his wife of 46 years, Rose Giardina Fertitta Haberstroh; sons Michael, Steven, and Jeffrey Haberstroh; and stepsons Chris, Randy, Scott, and Kirk Fertitta; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Interment with full military honors will be held on Friday, April 15, promptly at 11:15 a.m. at Shelter No. 2 in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
A reception will follow immediately in the Fort Sam Houston Golf Clubhouse in San Antonio.
