U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Tyler Cheslog, a San Antonio native, was baptized at sea aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman on Easter Sunday, April 17, following Easter services provided by Truman’s Command Religious Ministries Department. Assigned to aviation intermediate maintenance department (AIMD), IM-2 division hydraulic technician, Cheslog serves as an aviation structural mechanic and frequently attends gospel services while deployed in the Mediterranean. “I wanted to be baptized today, on Easter Sunday, because it’s a special event for Christians because Jesus Christ was resurrected today,” said Cheslog. “With us being so close to Israel and it being Easter Sunday I thought it would be the perfect opportunity.”
