Ronnie Neil ‘Pooch’ Bennight

Ronnie Neil “Pooch” Bennight passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Ronnie was born Dec. 21, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas, to LM and Jewel Bennight.

Ronnie worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for more than 30 years. After he retired, he became a full-time rancher on his Stockdale ranch, which he gladly did the past 15-18 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, LM Bennight (1999); and his daughter, Michelle Bennight (2021).

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 23 years, Toya Bennight; his mother, Jewel Bennight; his brother, Doug Bennight; grandson Jordan Bennight; two great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapel Cherry Ridge in San Antonio.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop.
