SS Cemetery Association pleads with the public to keep grounds clean

Members of the Sutherland Springs Cemetery Association are asking for the public’s help in making the cemetery a clean and nice place to be. The area they need assistance with is picking up old decorations that once adorned a loved one’s gravesite, as these items deteriorate over time.

As one could probably guess, the association’s main focus is to take care of those seeking information or scheduling services in the cemetery. Right on the heels of that is the upkeep of the cemetery grounds, including mowing and trimming, leaving picking up trash and old decorations at the bottom of the priority list.

Additionally, the association urges visitors to not litter or dump household items on the cemetery grounds.

There will not be a Memorial Day Ceremony this year; however, flags will be placed on veterans’ headstones.
