Register to vote by Oct. 10

Are you registered to vote?

To cast a ballot in the Nov. 7 election, you must register to vote by Tuesday, Oct. 10.

On the ballot for all Texans are a number of proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

Three council seats are on the ballot for the city of Floresville.

•Place 3: Jacob Silva, incumbent, faces former councilman Juan Ortiz

•Place 4: Gerard Jimenez, incumbent, is challenged by Frank S Ramirez

•Place 5: Gloria Cantu, incumbent, is unopposed.

Floresville Independent School District voters have two seats to fill.

•District 3: Rachel Peña, incumbent, is unopposed

•District 5: Nancy Jurgajtis, incumbent, faces a challenge by Jason C. Svoboda.

Ballots by mail must be requested by Friday, Oct. 27. Early voting is Monday, Oct. 23, through Friday, Nov. 3.

Primaries

Candidates for public office on the March 6, 2018, primary ballots can file for ballot places between Saturday, Nov. 11, and Monday, Dec. 11. Independent candidates also must file by Dec. 11.
