Sutherland Springs church plans Sunday services one week after horrific shootings

WCN Staff

The First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs will hold worship services Sunday, Nov. 12, one week after the church family suffered indescribable terror as a gunman slew 27 of the congregation and injured 20 others gathered in the church for Sunday services.

Services Sunday will be held at 11 a.m. at the town's baseball fields, and not in the Sutherland Springs Community Building as originally planned.

Funerals for some of the victims are taking place this weekend. More are scheduled for the coming week.

Pastor Frank Pomeroy and his wife, Sherri, told the Wilson County News they anticipate announcing during the service the plans for the church building, the scene of such violence a week ago.
