East Central FFA earns reserve champion banner

Reserve Champion Sweepstakes winner ... Members of the East Central FFA display the many banners, plaques, caps, and other awards they earned at the Nov. 3 Palo Alto College FFA Leadership Conference in San Antonio. East Central FFA took six teams Nov. 3 to the third annual Palo Alto College FFA Leadership Conference. As a group, the East Central FFA was named Reserve Champion Sweepstakes winner of this year’s event and the coaches earned Top Coach awards.

The Radio Broadcasting team of Meg Kosub, Faith Davenport, Brendan Molleda, and Lane Friesenhahn placed first out of 23 teams from across the state. The team presented an eight-minute program about the Go Texan Agricultural Marketing program.

Senior Creed speakers Kaitlyn Kempen and Johanna Durham placed first and eighth, respectively, out of 19 speakers.

Junior Creed speaker Krista St. Cyr was third out of 17 speakers.

The Senior Chapter Conducting team of Lane Friesenhahn, Brendan Molleda, Candace Landrum, Trent Stolowski, Cooper Rayl, Logan Sessler, Samantha Lowman, Carson Golson, Ava Nast, and Rebeka Benoy won second-place honors out of eight teams. The team conducted a meeting and answered questions on parliamentary law.

The Public Relations team of Morgan Lange, Taylor Kellner, Courtney Dury, and Camden Smith placed fourth.

FFA advisors Lorie Kempen and Danny Kempen coach these teams.
