Floresville, Poth firefighters quickly contain blaze

By WCN Staff (12-1-17)

Firefighters were still dowsing hot spots at 1:30 p.m. today after a grassfire broke out around noon on C.R. 223, just west of its intersection with C.R. 221.

The Floresville and Poth volunteer fire departments both responded to the fire with units and soon got the flames under control.

The fire spread from a burning pile of brush on the property at 11614 C.R. 223. Property owner Daniel Rosebrock, who operates a tree and landscaping service, said he was attempting to control the burn with a hose, but that it got out of hand.

The fire spread to two adjoining properties east of his. No structures were damaged in the fire, and no one reported injuries.
