Officers apprehend wanted man near Sutherland Springs

By WCN Staff

A wanted man has been arrested “without incident” on a number of felony warrants this evening between Sutherland Springs and Floresville, according to Wilson County Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt.

The sheriff’s office enlisted the aid of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, after learning the man had indicated to several people he wouldn't be taken in without a fight, Tackitt said. The man ran, “as he always does,” the sheriff said, but is now in custody.
The large law-enforcement presence led community members to express concern about a SWAT team in the area.
