Anton Leon Rakowitz


Anton Leon Rakowitz, 73, of Seguin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, after a five-year battle with Parkinson’s and PSP disease. He was born July 31, 1944, to Anton and Cecilia Bronder Rakowitz.

He was a union sheet metal worker for 35 years, of which the last 15 years he worked for Todd Ford. He was retired for 18 years. He was also a farmer and rancher most of his life.

Anton grew up in the St. Hedwig and Adkins area and graduated from East Central High School. He attended apprenticeship school in San Antonio and became a sheet metal apprentice in 1964.

He married Frances Wahl June 27, 1964; they made their home in Adkins and raised two sons, James and Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Cecilia Bronder Rakowitz; and grandparents Peter and Agnes Stanush Rakowitz and Leon and Febronia Banduch Bronder.

Anton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Rakowitz; son James Rakowitz and wife Bernadette, and their children, Rebecca, Daniel, and Matthew; son Scott Rakowitz and wife Janet, and their children, Chloe, Kayla, and Konnor; and a brother, Clinton Rakowitz and wife Janet.

Funeral arrangements at Annunciation Catholic Church in St. Hedwig are pending.
