Donna Lynn (Arnold) Schaffer

Donna Lynn (Arnold) Schaffer died peacefully in her home the morning of Thursday, July 5, 2018, in La Vernia, Texas, at the age of 72. Donna was born April 9, 1946, in Houston to Charles Milton Arnold and Leta Mae Page.

Donna graduated from Violet Hill High School in Arkansas in 1965. She held many occupations over the years, but her favorite was taking care of infants. She loved infants, and her time at Little Bear Child Care in La Vernia was her favorite job. She was a member of Cowboy Fellowship of Wilson County. One of her last services to the church was keeping the wives of the Volunteer Christian Builders team company during the construction of the new church building. They loved her joking with them and helping with their projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles Ray Arnold, Lon Wayne Arnold, and Gary Lee Arnold; and sister June Gale Rhinehart.

Donna is survived by her sister, Debra Kay Anderson; children David Wayne Arnold, Jody Lynn Arnold, and Tara Suzanne Bond; and grandchildren Kyle Douglas, Emily Douglas, Jake Schaffer, Treston Jones, Karissa Bond, Brylie Bond, and Skylar Bond. Of special mention is David Dennis Schaffer III, who stayed by her side through thick and thin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. in the Cowboy Fellowship of Wilson County in La Vernia, with Pastor Chris Kirkham to officiate.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donna’s life. A reception will follow in the church.

Memorial donations may be made in Donna’s name to Cowboy Fellowship of Wilson County.

The family would like to thank Nurses In Touch Hospice for their wonderful care.
