Nixon-Smiley CISD closed first day of school
The first day of school for students in Nixon-Smiley Consolidated Independent School District was cancelled today, after torrential rains overnight left several roads impassable. According to Superintendent Dr. Cathy Lauer, north and south F.M. 108 are underwater, while F.M. 1681 is barricaded, preventing three of her bus drivers from getting in to work.
