Early voting gets underway in city, school board elections

Early voting for the May 4 local elections began April 22 and will continue through Tuesday, April 30.

Registered voters in certain incorporated cities and school districts have an opportunity to cast ballots for members of their city council or school board at this time.

Because the Wilson County Election Office is not conducting any of the local elections, voting will be conducted in respective city halls and school district administrative offices. See below for polling places and times.

Government entities holding elections and the candidates for office include:

China Grove: two at-large seats — Fred Bean, Gail Beaver, Frank Bennett, Eddy J. Perez, and David E. Windhorst

Elmendorf: mayor — Mike Gonzales and Clayton J. Redmon

Floresville: mayor — Gloria Morales Cantu, Roy Idrach, and David J. “D.J.” Ortiz Jr.; Place 1 — Marissa Ximenez and Elodia Ramos; and Place 2 — Terry Rolland and Mario Morones

St. Hedwig: city council place 4 — Doretta Murray and Patrick Tabor Sr.

Falls City Independent School District (ISD): two-at large seats — Jonathan Kutac, Don Moy, Kevin Lyssy, David Lee, and Cathy Stolle

Poth ISD: four at-large seats — Ben Pruski, Byron Pfeifer, and incumbents Erika Urbanczyk, Scott Lyssy, and Jason Smolka

Stockdale ISD: District 4 — Tanner Voelkel and Kenneth Martinez.
