Floresville will have a new mayor (see Floresville election results, page 1A).

China Grove

The city of China Grove will have two new city councilmen. In the bid for two at-large council seats, voters elected Eddy J. Perez, 140 votes, and Fred Bean, 151 votes. They’ll replace current councilmen David E. Windhorst and Gail Beaver, who polled 80 and 93 votes, respectively. Also running was former Councilman Frank Bennett, who garnered only 21 votes.

Elmendorf

In Elmendorf, Mayor Mike Gonzales held off contender Clayton J. Redmon Sr., 41-18. Councilmen George L. Dziuk Jr., Place 3, and Linda Peña Ortiz, Place 5, were unopposed in their re-election bids.

St. Hedwig

Place 4 Councilman Doretta Murray has been re-elected; she overcame a challenge from Patrick Tabor Sr., 144-50. Russell Beck, Place 2, and Mayor Dee Grimm were unopposed and will retain their seats.

Falls City ISD

Two at-large seats on the Falls City Independent School District (ISD) board of trustees will be filled by Kevin Lyssy, 185 votes, and David Lee, 177 votes, from the field of five contenders. Also in the running were Cathy Stolle, 101 votes; Jonathan Kutac, 86; and Don Moy, 83.

Poth ISD

Voters filled four at-large places on the Poth ISD school board. Ben Pruski and Byron Pfeifer will join the board with 366 and 296 votes, respectively. Re-elected to the board were Erika Urbanczyk, 234 votes, and Scott Lyssy with 201.

Also running was Jason Smolka, who received 115 votes.
